Beginner Class


This workshop is lead by artist Jennifer Jarvis. She will gently guide you through color mixing and abstract painting exercises. Will introduce you to the medium of acrylic paints, the process of painting as a healing modality, the ability to connect to your inner resources and disconnect from stress, all while building your confidence in you ability to non verbally express yourself. No prior experience is needed, All painting supplies will be provided.

Instructor: Linda Bice (www.lindabice.com) Adult & Teens Prerequisite: None; class is designed for beginners Class Size: Minimum 2, maximum 10 Friday Nov 13 , 1:00pm - 4:00 pm - Cost $70 all materials included Description: The class atmosphere will be fun, comfortable, supportive, learning and experimentation. Acrylic pouring is fun and easy. The results are random and gorgeous. We will experiment with the Dirty Pour, Flip Cup, Dutch Pour, Balloon dip, Controlled Pour, Paper Towel pull and more. You will have to pick up your finished painting the next day (or later if you need to) in order for them to dry lying flat. You will have a choice of size and shapes of canvas.

Bring your treasures to class. Join Tumbleweed resident Artist, Barbara Soloff Levy as she guides you into the wonderful world of assemblage art! This class will reuse found objects and turn them into art. You can make a collage, sculpture, journal or doll. You can add the small sculpture to your collage. The possibilities are endless! Bring things that have meaning to you. Things from the past lying in a drawer or something from your family members that you don't know what to do with it but is nostalgic to you. Or bring in items that you found in a thrift-shop, flea market or antique shop.

Join Tumbleweed Resident Artist, Janine Ewing- Belletire in a beginning watercolor class. This is a casual class for folks interesting in exploring watercolor painting, in a fun and relaxed setting! Janine will offer instruction, demos, talk about supplies and offer guidance in the world of watercolors. Take one class or sign up for several.

Plein Air Bootcamp: Get Ready for Outdoor Painting Season! This plein air painting class gets your painting life outside and shows you how to tame the Big Picture of the Front Range Landscape into a manageable paintable scene. This workshop is taught by local plein air artist, Gail Denton. A materials list will be emailed to you once you sign up! Workshop size, maximum 10 students, minimum of 5.

Instructor: Linda Bice Adults & Teens Prerequisite: No experience required. Class Size: Minimum 2; maximum 10 * Friday, September 4th, 1 – 3:30pm - $75, includes all materials needed. Are you a journaler that loves having fun journals to work in? I’ll teach you to make your own totally unique reusable cover with wool. In this 3-hour workshop, participants will complete a seamless journal cover of their chosen color scheme and design using a resist. Lots of hands-on assistance and direction will be provided. The class atmosphere will be fun, comfortable, supportive, and one of learning and experimentation. Not suitable for anyone allergic to wool. The class includes a mixed media spiral notebook (5 ½ x8 ½), all the wool and embellishments needed and a pen. If you have a specific button, clasp or beads that you want to use, please bring those along.

Class Size: Minimum 2; maximum 10 Saturday November 7th 3- 530pm- $65 includes all materials used Description: In this workshop, participants will complete a hand felted seamless luminaria vase cover of their chosen color scheme using a resist. Lots of hands-on assistance and direction will be provided. The completed luminaria will be thin so light shows through it perfectly using a battery operated candle or light (not to be used with a real candle). The light is not provided but everything else including the vase is provided. The class atmosphere will be fun, comfortable, supportive, and one of learning and experimentation. Not suitable for anyone allergic to wool. Bring to class: All materials provided with fee (except light for luminaria)

Your piece will be made of wool roving with yarns and viscose embellishments. Lots of hands-on assistance and direction will be provided. The class atmosphere will be fun, comfortable, supportive, and one of learning and experimentation. Not suitable for anyone allergic to wool. No experience required.
